Hi everyone!
I finished this latest song about three weeks ago, but have been so sick, and worn out, and busy from a class that I was taking, that I hadn’t recorded it yet.
I tried something different this time- I shot a video. I am very pleased with the sound quality, but a little less pleased with my bad hair day. Oh well. Lots of grace and love, friends… lots of grace and love.
So – anyone who knows me knows that vlogging is NOT my thing, so please accept this offering, and know the guts it took to post, and the fear and trembling that accompanies it.
Ok.
The song, The Lord Will Fight For You, is based on Exodus 14:14, which my dear friend Shell mentioned to me one day.
Go ahead and watch — it is password protected, the password is “meredithsings”. (I know that wasn’t grammatically correct, but I didn’t see a way around it.)

The Lord Will Fight For You
Lay your burdens
down now sisters
Lay your burdens
down now brothers
Leave them down
turn around
and take off running
The battle you fight
doesn’t need your army
The Lord will fight for you
and all that you must do
is be still
Take Him at His word
and know you have been heard
and believe
When the world comes against you
from every direction
scorns and rejects you
for what you believe
Let it go
look away
and turn the other cheek
This fight is not yours
the battle is the Lords
The Lord will fight for you
and all that you must do
is be still
Take Him at His word
and know you have been heard
and believe
This world will through you down
and leave you for dead
But out God is above all these
and He will fight for you
Yes He will fight for you
No weapon forged against you
will prevail
for He will fight for you
Yes He will fight for you
so lay your burdens
down now sisters
lay your burdens
down now brothers
leave them down
turn around
and take off running
the battle you fight
doesn’t need your army
The Lord will fight for you
and all that you must do
is be still
Take Him at His word
and know you have been heard (reversed these two in video- sorry!)
and believe
Lay your burdens down now sisters

So – please remember the step of faith and bravery that I am taking in sharing this, and remember that my living room is not a professional recording studio, and my voice is recovering from month long colds. Ok. Disclaimer over!
Thank you, sweet friends. You are amazing!

These lyrics especially. I love the image they paint in my mind. The image of laying it down and knowing He is in control, He will fight for me, He already has, He’ll never stop.

I so completely resonate with your heart, sister!
It’s so scary to pour your heart into a song you’ve written + then send it out for others to see.
I’m proud of you for stepping out in faith + sharing with us…as you can see, it’s been a blessing!
In fact, you may have given me the push I need to just vlog some of our music + get it out there!
Thanks, girl!
