A God Worthy of Worship

It is Sunday morning, and we are preparing our hearts for meeting together to worship Him.  My husband is being convicted by almost every sentence of a tithing book, and I just read Job 38.  What an amazing chapter.  If we ever have doubt about how much He is involved in our lives, then I think Job 38 is the prescription.

He gave the oceans boundaries, and determined the height of the mountains.  He not only created all living things, but he provides for each one, every single day.

“Where were you when I laid the earth’s foundation?
Tell me, if you understand.
Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?
On what were its footings set,
or who laid its cornerstone—
while the morning stars sang together
and all the angels shouted for joy?

When I think about the majesty that is our beautiful earth home, and I picture my God carefully planning, marking out boundaries, and working out His plan, I am overwhelmed with gratitude.

39 “Do you hunt the prey for the lioness
and satisfy the hunger of the lions
40 when they crouch in their dens
or lie in wait in a thicket?
41 Who provides food for the raven
when its young cry out to God
and wander about for lack of food?

Why should we ever worry about anything, when our God is so involved with the fragile life on this planet that He provides food for all of His creation?  The answer?  We shouldn’t.

That, my friends, is a God worth praising, worthy of worship.  I pray for beautiful, inspiring, convicting and energizing times of praise, worship and fellowship for you all this morning!
